About Me
Hello!
My name is Niko, I’m a trans man living in Madison, WI. I started Queer Suave because I wanted to create a safe space for Queer and Trans folks to be able to express themselves through fashion and not feel uncomfortable or dysphoric in doing so. I’ve always had a passion for creating something from nothing. I grew up very poor and from a broken home with very little opportunity but I wasn't going to let that stop me. When I first came out I felt so much relief and excitement but noticed very quickly that the clothing options available to me made me feel bad about myself. This became even more difficult when I came out a second time as trans. When 2020 hit the world turned upside down and I adapted by teaching myself how to sew. Coming out as trans during this time helped me to finally start to love myself. I couldn’t find clothing options that could help me express that love, so I had a new mission to change that.
Clothing and self expression go hand to hand and it's so special to get something made for you from scratch. From picking out beautiful fabrics to specific thread and button options, I want to give my community a garment house where they can custom-build their dream garment. I make everything to your specific measurements and can make whatever type of garment that provides euphoria for you. I get so much joy giving queer folks an opportunity to make something so personalized from scratch. There's nothing like it; it's solely 1 of 1, made just for you. How can you beat that?!
